About

My name is Mary Katharine Streech, and I suffered from both Anorexia and Bulimia Nervosa for four years.  After receiving treatment I have come to realize how powerful information can be in regards to this disease. Spreading information on this matter can help in prevention, but I also believe that education on warning signs are essential. I do not believe that Eating Disorders are 100% preventable, especially with the new NEDA study that found a gene that may make a child more likely to develop one. What I do believe is that if more people were educated on this issue, the disease could be caught before it becomes a matter of life or death. My project is to spread knowledge to help save suffers from the 20% fatality rate. Get informed, become aware, and pay attention. You never know how many lives you could save in the future.      Text Information on the different types of disorders are from: http://www.something-fishy.org/

Check out this website, it is very helpful as well.
